Important Notice
Maine’s 127th Legislature passed a law aimed at protecting the state’s lakes. It prohibits the use of fertilizers containing phosphorus or nitrogen within 25 feet of the high-water mark. This law is crucial for anyone with lakeshore property, and all residents and property owners around Portage Lake should be aware of it to help preserve the lake’s natural ecosystem.
