Our Role in the Community
The Code Enforcement Officer plays a vital role in protecting both Portage Lake and its residents. By enforcing the Shoreland Zoning and Land Use Codes, which have been developed and adopted by the community over the years, the CEO helps ensure responsible development. This individual also serves as the Licensed Plumbing Inspector, overseeing septic systems, and acts as the Local Health Officer for the town.
