The Portage Lake Fire Department is a dedicated group of highly skilled volunteers committed to protecting Portage Lake and its surrounding areas from fires and other emergencies. Our team meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month, and we’re always looking for self-motivated, able-bodied individuals to join us. As a member, you could earn an additional $1,000+ annually! Burn Permits

Planning a brush fire outside a fire ring? Please contact local Fire Warden Brian Cote at 207-762-2660 or Deputy Fire Warden Matt Boutot at Coffin’s General Store (207-435-2811).

You can also request an online burn permit through the State of Maine. If you obtain a permit online, you must notify Chief Cote by calling or texting 207-762-2660.
