The Portage Lake Fire Department is a skilled and higly-motivated group of volunteers who dedicate their time to make sure Portage Lake and the surrounding areas are protected from fire and other emergencies.
Meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month. We are always looking for able-bodied & self-motivated people to join the Department! You could earn an extra $1,000+ per year! If you would like to have a brush fire that is not contained within a fire-ring, please contact local Fire Warden Larry Duchette at the Town Office @ 435-4361 or home 435-1010/754-0018, or Deputy Fire Warden Chris Walker @ 762-0392. You can also request an online burn permit directly from the State of Maine for a small fee.
